Position Summary:

Our Advanced Analytics and Data Science (AA&DS) is part of that transition. Currently we work according to a hybrid arrangement, using a combination of automated tools, commercial applications, and ad hoc manual consultancy. We envision this to be more and more embedded in our E2E platform, so our expert team can focus on adding value and developing more and better tools to support our business.

To serve one of our biggest clients, we are looking for a highly motivated Database Developer, with 3 or more years of experience in Database development.

In addition to database development (and a few basic administration tasks like backup/restore), and basic Python coding, the candidate will be a strong communicator (with internal client teams and eventually clients) and willing to adapt to evolving business requirements, helping in our transition, and challenging the status quo.

Position responsibilities are:

  • Designing, Building and maintaining relational databases and code including stored procedures, view, and functions
  • Must be experienced in writing, troubleshooting & fixing dynamic SQL code
  • Building and maintaining SSAS databases and cubes
  • Build, maintain and improve ETL operations for existing projects
  • Perform regular ETL, data warehousing tasks
  • Create SSRS reports
  • Write SQL code for special client projects as requested, e.g., client databases, custom reporting, and ad hoc applications
  • Perform file management, archiving, and script execution to support research managers
  • Perform data cleanup and imputation to improve the quality of tracker datasets
  • Implement automated data management processes using Python and SQL to develop datasets for reporting and mining
  • Support ad hoc data reporting needs of all groups and data query components using Excel and Pivot Tables

Position Qualifications:

Required qualifications will include (but are not limited to):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, management information systems, or a related field.
  • Should be well versed in Microsoft SQL Server, very familiar TSQL coding including the dynamic SQL. Experience with other aspects of SQL server like SQL
  • Profiler, Database backup/Restore, Performance troubleshooting basics are also nice to have
  • Able to design, modify and process SSAS Cubes
  • Also nice to have is the ability to create and edit ETL packages in SSIS
  • Working knowledge of SSIS, SSRS
  • Experience with Excel-based reporting, including Pivot Tables is a plus
  • Must be open to learning Python at an intermediate level. Experience with opensource platforms, including R or Python and associated libraries, is preferred but not required
  • Fluency in SPSS or SAS is a plus
  • Familiar with Visual Studio
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Willingness to work in a collaborative environment
  • Strong communication skills

Skills that would be nice to have:

  • Comfortable using Application development tools like Git, SonarQube
  • Understanding of testing frame-works like Pytest or Unittest
  • Understanding of cloud platforms like AWS/Azure/GC
  • Familiarity with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) processes

This is a remote position, or you can work out of one of our eastern coast offices. We are also accepting applications from candidates outside of the US. You MUST be able to work East Coast hours, ie: 7 am-5 pm EDT (hours vary depending on meetings).
