Website of the Year Awards 2016

On 1 December, the 16th edition of the Website of the Year Awards ceremony was held at the B. Amsterdam building in Amsterdam. The award winners, voted for by the public, were revealed during an excitement-fueled event hosted by MetrixLab and Emerce.

The Dutch police force’s website (politie.nl) was crowned Website of the Year Overall Winner for the second year running.

The Overall Winner and 24 category winners were announced by BNN television presenter Valerio Zeno, the compere for the evening.

Smulweb, the Most Popular Culinary Website, was also the lucky winner of the prize draw on the night. The prize, a MetrixLab usability check voucher, was presented by MetrixLab Managing Director Jolique Weelink.

The Website of the Year Award
The Website of the Year Award is the people’s choice award for the best and most popular websites. The election is an international event. Voting takes place online in seven different countries: France, Germany, India, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and the United Kingdom. In 2016, a total of more than three million votes were cast in the seven different elections. The Website of the Year Award is independent and objective, and is organized by MetrixLab.
