LONDON, 20 November 2014 – BMW, Coca-Cola, BBC, Arsenal, Vodafone and Barclays have been chosen by the British public as category winners of the Website of the Year 2014. Telecom website O2 has been chosen by the British public as the overall winner of the Website of the Year 2014.
The Website of the Year election is the biggest annual online public prize in Europe and was organized for the eleventh consecutive year. This year more than 74.000 people voted more than 134.000 times on their favourite websites in 19 different categories, like Media, Sports and Shopping. Nominated websites were judged on content, navigation, design and recommendation intention. There are 2 winners in each category: the Best Website, the site with the highest average score on the four elements, and the Most Popular Website, the site with the highest number of votes. The overall winner of the Website of the Year is the website with the best relative review within its category.
