About Us:

MetrixLab is a global market research and insights company. We are challenging the status quo of insights by blending evolving technology with passionate experts. MetrixLab helps global and local brands to drive more business impact. From packaging to creative testing, brand tracking, and media effectiveness, MetrixLab’s solutions adapt to fit all types of budgets, timelines, and business needs.

Central in our evolving technology is our envisioned End-to-End platform. Where from start to finish we deploy our projects, in a very intuitive and fast way. These projects can be survey related (the data we collect ourselves), combined with data coming from other sources, including sales, ad spend, social media, search, and weather metrics.

Our Advanced Analytics and Data Science (AA&DS) is part of that transition. Currently we work according to a hybrid arrangement, using a combination of automated tools, commercial applications, and ad hoc manual consultancy. We envision this to be more and more embedded in our E2E platform, so our expert team can focus on adding value and developing more and better tools to support our business.

To serve one of our biggest clients, we are looking for a highly motivated Senior Data Specialist, with two or more years of experience in Data Warehousing, Report Generation, and Business Intelligence. (S)he will support MetrixLab on key trackers, manage databases, provide summary reports, and distill insight on a recurring basis.

In addition to data processing capabilities, the candidate will be a strong communicator (with internal client teams and eventually clients) and willing to adapt to evolving business requirements, helping in our transition, and challenging the status quo.

Position responsibilities are:

  • Build project databases and develop SQL Cube to automate existing projects.
  • Perform regular ETL, data warehousing, and SSRS for reporting.
  • Leverage SQL for special client projects as requested, e.g., client databases, custom reporting, and ad hoc applications.
  • Provide Database Administrator (DBA) support including file management, archiving, and script execution supporting research managers.
  • Perform data cleaning and imputation to improve the quality of tracker datasets.
  • Implement automated data management processes using Python and SQL to develop datasets for reporting and mining.
  • Support ad hoc data reporting needs of all groups and data query components using Excel and Pivot Tables.

Even if you do not meet all the qualifications, please apply, we want to hear from you!

Note: While efforts have been made to ensure the accuracy of this position description, it is not warranted to be an exhaustive recitation of all position duties; the incumbent may be required to perform duties beyond those listed above.

Required qualifications will include (but are not limited to):

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer Science, management information systems, or a related field.
  • Experience working in Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing using Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) techniques.
  • Proficiency in Structured Query Language (SQL) Server technologies, including SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
  • Ability to use SQL Cube for tabulating large databases.
  • Experience with Excel-based reporting, including Pivot Tables.
  • Experience with opensource platforms, including R or Python and associated libraries, is preferred but not required.
  • Fluency in SPSS or SAS is a plus.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Willingness to work in a collaborative environment.
  • Strong communication skills.
