Position Summary:

As Product Owner you will be responsible for maximizing business value from our Data Management and Data Exploration Platform domains, which is at the heart of our envisioned global and highly integrated E2E platform. You will join a team of 5 Product Owners and work out of our Rotterdam office. You’ll own, articulate, and oversee the delivery of a clear product vision and roadmap to increase our Data Management and Exploration capabilities. You will be expert in agile product development with a passion for using data and analytics, combining business and technical knowledge to turn data into value. In this role, you will work collaboratively with business stakeholders and technology development teams to curate product backlogs, craft user stories and define acceptance criteria that deliver the business benefit and value of each product and its features.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and work collaboratively with stakeholders and external partners to create a value-driven, long-term product vision and roadmap.
  • Take an active role in product discovery and experimentation, by keeping abreast of industry best practices and trends in the data & analytics and cloud infrastructure fields.
  • Develop business cases to demonstrate the benefits of the roadmap and measure subsequent level of success through predetermined KPI’s.
  • Define, own and proactively manage your team’s innovation backlog, based on well refined stories/requirements and clear acceptance criteria.
  • Eliminate impediments to ensure there is a steady flow of work for the delivery team deliver and there is maximum value for its stakeholders.
  • Ensuring the product backlog is accurately prioritized through regular discussion and review. Attend and being a voice in agile events and stand ups, refinement, (PI) planning and retrospectives. Work with other Product Owners and Scrum Masters/agile coaches to ensure that these are successful.
  • Working collaboratively with the UX team to provide understanding of the user stories to ensure designs are aligned and customer experiences are delivered.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Extensive experience as a Product Owner with strong (technical) background in Data & Analytics.
  • Knowledge and hands on experience of working with scrum (scaled) agile delivery methods as a certified product owner (PSPO).
  • Experience working on large, complex projects, programmes or products with proven ability to deliver lasting value to stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and product management skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer/business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts on global scale.
  • An aptitude for customer and user centric problem solving and experience of working with UI/UX teams to produce high quality artefacts.
  • Strong ability to refine and prioritize your backlog and write user stories and defining acceptance criteria.
  • Proactive learner, enjoys balancing business value and technological challenges, easily picking up the phone to align with stakeholders (even in difficult conversations), good organizational sensitivity, empathy for business differences in needs per group, engaging person to work with.
  • Awareness of modern application development such as cloud-based web development.
  • Experience of using work management tools such as Azure DevOps.
  • Fluent in English, for both written and verbal communication.

Good to have:

  • Experience with Machine learning and Data Science techniques is considered a plus.
  • Previous experience in a Market Research company.
