Rotterdam - April 29th, MetrixLab has announced revenues of €14.5 million euros in 2007, showing a 76% increase compared to last year. The company, recently named to Deloitte's prestigious 2007 EMEA Technology Fast 500 Program, is the second largest independent online market research agency in Europe (after UK headquartered YouGov).
MetrixLab's ambition is clear: become Europe's biggest and best 'full service' online research provider. "Many of the online agencies nowadays are focusing on access panels and low added value research products and services, a market that is rapidly commoditizing, still showing high growth rates but low profit margins." The company's CEO, Han de Groot questions the long term perspective of these firms. "From an investment perspective they appear to be very attractive, but in the end it is all about sustained growth combined with strong profits." In contrast, MetrixLab focuses on a suite of branded solutions in the areas of communications research, new product development research and satisfaction research, competing with the traditional market research multinationals such as TNS, Millward Brown, IPSOS and Synovate.
The company expects revenues to grow to €19 million in 2008 and to €27 million in 2009. "These are our organic growth targets; via M&A we hope to expand to at least €50 million in 2010," says Han de Groot. "We are continuously evaluating other online MR companies in- and outside Europe".
Han de Groot credits the company's growth with its ability to combine market research expertise with proprietary research technology and global consumer panels to deliver new levels of consumer insight.
"Our figures show that MetrixLab continues to hold its growth in terms of turnover as well as profit, reflecting the fact that MetrixLab's innovative products and operations are indeed scaleable. Furthermore, our profit margins are three times as high as the average in the sector, enabling the company to hire excellent marketing research professionals, invest in R&D, expand geographic footprint and continue to grow our consumer panels", says Han de Groot.
