Website of the Year 2014: Start voting for your favourite websites!

London, Rotterdam, 22 September 2014 – Voting for the Website of the Year has officially started! The British public can vote for their favourite websites, starting today up to and including 31 October 2014. Around 230 websites have been nominated in 19 different categories this year.

Nominated websites are judged on content, navigation, design and recommendation intention. In each category there are two prizes to be won: the Best and the Most Popular Website of the Year. The ‘Best Website’ is the site with the highest average score on content, navigation, design and recommendation intention. The ‘Most Popular Website’ is the site with the highest number of votes. The overall winner is the website with the best combined score and may call themselves ‘The Website of the Year’. Voting is open now at websiteoftheyear.co.uk.

2014 signals the eleventh consecutive year this independent award is being organised by MetrixLab, a global insights and analytics provider. With approximately 90,000 votes, the Website of the Year award is one of the largest public competitions in our country. Winners in 2013 included Top Gear, Sky News, Vodafone, Amazon, Arsenal, TripAdvisor, UNICEF and BMW.

Besides the UK, the award is also held in the Netherlands, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, India and Brazil.
